A Resolution authorizing the payment of regularly occurring or pre-approved
invoices to the City of Iona upon ratification of one elected official and
one employee within the City Treasurer's Office
WHEREAS the City of Iona is authorized and required to make payment of numerous
invoices from time to time;
WHEREAS the payment of invoices by the City of Iona is generally accomplished during
the regularly scheduled meetings of the Iona City Council;
WHEREAS from time to time, the need arises to have invoices paid prior to the City
Council convening a meeting to approve payment;
WHEREAS payment of certain invoices in a timely manner results in a savings or is
expedient in maintaining good business relationships; and
WHEREAS the City has previously passed Resolution 2008-1, which authorizes the City
to pay certain invoices in accordance with the procedures specified therein.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF IONA, IDAHO:
1. Resolution 2008-1 is hereby rendered null and void, and this resolution supplants and
replaces all of the provisions of Resolution 2008-1.
2. The City of Iona hereby authorizes payment of invoices as set forth in this resolution:
A. Those invoices that are approved by a quorum of the Iona City Council at a
meeting of the Council, regardless of whether checks or credit card charges
have previously been written or authorized.
B. Between City Council meetings, those invoices that are
i. less than $10,000.00;
ii. deemed to be either regularly occurring or necessary;
iii. have been considered and approved as part of the annual budget
process; and

iv. are approved in advance of payment by (A) the Mayor and (B) the City
Clerk, the City Treasurer, or the City's Public Works Director.
C. Other invoices must be first approved at a meeting of the City Council or by a
majority of the City Council between meetings of the Council.
3. This resolution, including the authorization described herein shall become effective
upon its passage, execution, and publication in the manner provided by law.
