Tiffin Planning and Zoning Commission August 7, 2002
A regular meeting of the Tiffin Planning and Zoning Commission was brought to order
by Chair Steve Berner. Members present: Sandy Hudepohl, Steve Berner,Melvin Reeve
and Mark Petersen. Absent: Terry Richardson. Also present: Mayor Glenn Potter,
Council members Dave Shaffer and Karin Dils.
Members spent time working on zone areas for the northeastern sector of the city along
Interstate Highway#380 and regions to the west. Consideration was given to business
growth in the region, homes and possible school and recreation sites. Hart Engineering
will work on map completion.
Planning and Zoning did final,reading of proposed changes for zoning ordinance,
allowing for clarification of uses in commercial zones.
Members discussed the possible change of names for both Sewell and Stetzel Streets.
Stetzel Street would be relatively easy to change as there are only three property owners
at this time that would need to make alterations. Petition request from property owners
will be the best way to initial application to city council for change.
Board of Adjustment has reviewed a request from Joe Johnston and Amanda Potterfield
for a variance for R1 property located at 230 Main Street to R2 duplex use. The Board of
Adjustment approved variance of zoning on condition that Joe Johnston and Amanda
Potterfield provide dedication of 15 feet of street and that all question of any portion of
the street on the north boundary of the parcel be used for street use by the public.
Motion Richardson, second Hudepohl to adjourn. Motion carried.
