2010 Business Appreciation Award Nominees Announced
Record number of nominations received
Leesburg, VA (April 20, 2010) – The Town of Leesburg received over 75 nominations for
outstanding businesses and individuals for the 9th annual Business Appreciation Awards.
Leesburg’s annual Business Appreciation Awards Reception is the Town’s premier business event.
The program celebrates the Leesburg business community and specifically the independent
business owners who are the backbone of our community and our nation’s economy.

In addition to the business awards, individuals who have demonstrated an exemplary
commitment to the community above and beyond business contributions may be nominated
for the George C. Marshall Award. The 2010 nominees for the Marshall Award are Mr. Paul
Bice, Ms. Tina Johnson, Ms. Sola Pallotta and Mr. Robert Sevila.
To be eligible, businesses or organizations must be primarily physically located within the
corporate limits of the Town of Leesburg. Individuals nominated for the George C. Marshall
Award are not required to reside within the Town limits.
Nominees and award recipients will be recognized at the 9th annual Business Appreciation
Reception on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at the Thomas Birkby House in Historic Downtown
Leesburg. Businesses that have been operating for 25 years or more will be recognized at the
reception as Leesburg’s “Legacy Businesses”.
