A regular meeting of the Tiffin Planning and Zoning Commission was brought to order
by Chair Steve
Berner at 6:30 p.m. at the Tiffm Fire Station'October 2, 2002. Members present: Steve
Berner, Mark Petersen, Sandy Hudepohl, Terry Richardson and Melvin Reeve. Absent:
None. Also present: Dave S haffer, Jim Bartels, Karin Dils and Mayor Glenn Potter.

Newman Abuissa, District Planner for Idot and Dave.Pogrevez were present to visit with
PZ members regarding safety problems at the intersection of Stephans and Highway#6.
Highway study and rerouting through the city were also considered. Tiffm is the detour
for vehicles circumventing the I-380/I-80 intersection accident area.
Members recommended addition of IDOT prescribed painting requirements-for streets to
the official Design Standards for the City of,Tiffm.
Members considered change in the speed limit on Jasper Avenue and gave no
recommendation to the city council.
A citizen has made a request for no parking on one side of Maddie Lane due to overflow
parking from four-plexes on Iris Avenue. Motion Petersen, second Richardson to
recommend that No Parking be placed on the side of Maddie Lane that contains
mailboxes, and that in general this rule be followed across the city. Ayes: Reeve,
Richardson, Hudepohl,Petersen and Berner. Motion carried.
Motion carried to adjourn. 7:35 p.m.
