RESOLUTION OF THE HOROUGH OF ~-~RTERET, COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX,
STATE OF NEW JERSEY, AUTHORIZING AN EXTENSION OF TIME FOR
PAYMENT OF MUNICIPAL TAXES WITHOUT INTEREST TO SEPTEMBER 1,
1997.
~-~WHEREAS' the Borough of Carteret was scheduled to mail out
'~icipal tax bills by June 15, 1997, to all property owners,
WHEREAS, there are certain beneficial changes to the
residents as a result of the State of New Jersey's adoption
of certain programs to reduce taxes which resulted in a delay
in the mailing of the tax bills, and,
WHEREAS, the delay of the mailing of the municipal tax bills
will resul~ in the imposition of interest payments if an
extension of time for the payment of the bills is not granted
to the resident of the Borough of Carteret.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of
the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New
Jersey, as follows:
1. That the Mayor and council hereby authorize the extension
of time for payment of the municipal tax bills to September
1, 1997.
2. In the event that the tax bills are not paid by a
resident on September 1, 1997, then interest shall be
retroactive to the August 1, 1997 due date.
3. That the Borough Clerk shall forward certified copies of
this resolution to the foll6wing:

Department of Community Affairs:
B. Tax Collector.
Adopted this 17th day of July, 1997 and
certified as a true copy of the original
on July 18, 1997.
