Connnunice.tion. A letter was received from Livermore Aerie, No. 609, Fraternal Order of Eagles, thanking the Council :for assisting the lodge in the distribution of Christmas donations. The Clerk was directed to send a letter to the Aerie, thanking them for the good done by them in the community. The following resolution was read and was introduced by Councilman Bothwell and, on motion of Councilman Bothwell, seconded by Councilman Clarke, and by the following called vote, was adopted' Ayes--Councilmen Bothwell, Clarke, Fiorio, Tubbs, and Mayor oernhardt; noes--none; absent--none: RESOLUTION NO. 1088 WHEREAS, under and by virtue of the provisions of Section 32 of the State Liquor Control Act of the State of California; Chapter 685, Statutes of 1933, sixty per cent of license fees collected in the Counties, Cities and Counties and Cities of California shall be apportioned respectively to said Counties, Cities and counties and cities in the proportion that the amount of the fees collected in the particular Oounties, Cities and Counties and cities bear to the total amount eollected throughout the State, after all salaries and expenses have been paid therefrom, and WHEREAS, after said salaries and expenses .spe deducted from said license revenue due to the City of Livermore, said Cit y received 46.2 per cent of all monies so collected, and WHEREAS, under and by virtue of Rhle 5 of said Act the power and duty of enforcing the proviSions of said Act is delegated to local police and enforcement officers, and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council of the City of Livermore tha.t the sum so apportioned to said City is inade- quate to prop~rly compensate for the local enforcement of said Act. NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Livermore respectfully recommends to the Leaguecof California Municipalities in convention assembled at Pasadena, California, that said League take such action as may be deemed necessary to have said Liquor Control Act amended by the Legislature of the State of California in its 1935 session so as to provide for exclusive County and Muni- cipal control and enforcement of the l1qunr traffic in the State of california. ]h re Water from Retch Hetchy.
