Wednesday,February 12, 2003 .
Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Tiffin; Iowa, will conduct a
public'Hearing on Wednesday,February 12, 2003 at 6:30 p.m. at the Tiffin Fire Station
regarding a proposed water rate increase that will be used to finance repayment in part or
in full of a State Revolving Fund(SRF) loan from the State of Iowa. The SRF Loan will
be used to finance capital improveinerits to the City of Tiffni water source and treatment
and distribution system.
The proposed capital improvements planincludes providing a new well source;treatment
facility plant and installation of distribution lines for the City of Tiffin. The City
proposes to increase the minimum water cost for the first 2,000 gallon of water usage
.. from the current $12.00 to $18.00 per hookup or water use unit. The City proposes to
make no change in the fee for usage beyond the minimum which includes the first 2,000 ,
gallon of use. -The cost for each 1,000 gallon of water use beyond 2,000 gallons will
remain unchanged at the current $5.50/thousand of gallon water used. The city proposes
no change in water costs for water used beyond the minimum(first 2,000 gallon) use

All citizens are invited to attend this Public Hearing. People may contribute input either ,
in favor of or against said proposal'either in written or verbal form. Written comment
will also be accepted by the City of Tiffm and should be sent to City of Tiffin, PO Box
259, Tiffin, IA 52340 odor before February 11, 2002 to,assure contribution may be
' considered in Public Hearing of February 12, 2003. Any person requiring special
assistance due to disability or impairment may contact the City of Tiffin for additional or
