No. 11-07 of the Code Changing Florida 17th Congressional District to 24th District 1st Reading: SEPTEMBER 26, 2012 2°d Reading: OCTOBER 24, 2012 Public Hearing: OCTOBER 24, 2012 Adopted: OCTOBER 24, 2012 Effective Date: NOVEMBER 7, 2012 Sponsored by: Vice Mayor Johnson ORDINANCE NO. 12-25 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 11-07, SECTION 2-45 OF THE CODE, CHANGING FLORIDA 17TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT TO THE 24TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT OF FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT AND REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to amend Ordinance No. 11-07; and WHEREAS, Section 2-45, of the Code of the City of Opa-locka, Florida, sets the Agenda for City Commission meetings; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 11-07, established the inclusion of a report from the 17th Congressional District, and the state legislators representing the City of Opa-locka; and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to amend Section 2.45 in order to make the change to the 24th Congressional District, due to renumbering as a result of redistricting. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The foregoing recitals are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Ordinance. Section 2. Section 2.45 of the Code of the City of Opa-locka Florida is hereby amended as follows: a. A Report from the 24th Congressional District of Florida nth Congressional District of Florida is created, to be Item 9. b. A report from any State Senators representing the City of Opa-locka is created, to be Item 10. c. A report from any State Representatives representing the City of Opa- locka is created, to be Item 11. d. Section 2-45, Items 9 thru 21 will be renumbered as Items 12 through 24. Section 3. REPEALER. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 4. SEVERABILITY. If any portion, section, phrase or clause of this Ordinance is held invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such ruling shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this Ordinance. Section 5. CODIFICATION. This ordinance shall be codified in the Code of Ordinances when the code is recodified. Section 6. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall upon adoption, become effective November 7, 2012.
