HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 62-221RESOLUTION NO. 62.221 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR ARCHITECT - ENGINEER SER- VICES OF FICKES & FICKES RE DESIGN OF LIBRARY AND RELATED FACILITIES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City has heretofore-entered into a JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT with the County of Los Angeles relative to the creation of a new library facility in the City of Temple City; and WHEREAS, pursuant to said JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT the City desires to engage the services of Eugene W. Fickes and James T. Fickes, doing business as Fickes & Fickes, a co- partnership; and WHEREAS, the basic terms of an agreement between the City and Fickes & Fickes has been prepared, but which agree- ment may require additional negotiations respecting the scope of work and certain terms and conditions, which will require consultation between the City Manager and the advice of the City Attorney; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to expedite the finalization of the aforesaid contract, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Mayor, the City Manager and the City Attorney are hereby authorized to negotiate and finalize the terms of that certain tentative agreement submitted to the City Council between the City and Fickes & Fickes by the City Attorney at its regular meeting held on July 23, 1962. SECTION 2. Upon approval by the City Attorney of the subject contract referenced in Section 1 as finalized after negotiation, the Mayor of the City is hereby authorized to execute said contract for and on behalf of the City of Temple City.
