New Business Adjournment V 7 • t Planning and Zoning Commission August 6, 2003 City of Tiffin A regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council was brought to order by Chair Steve Berner. 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at the Tiffin Fire Station.. Members present: ,, Melvin Reeve, Stephanie Surine, and Steve Berner. Absent: Terry Richardson and Mark Petersen. Also present: Mayor Potter, Council Dave Shaffer, Karin Dils, Sandy' Huedepohl, Jim Bartels and Mike Gericke. Motion Reeve, second Surine to approve minutes. Ayes: Berner, Surine, and Reeve.. Absent: Richardson, and Petersen. Motion carried. , rr Members discussed request from Chad Freeman for a Subdivision Request of a parcel off the current Tiffin East'in the property owned by Mick McGrew. Question regarding size of lot that is smaller than a residential size. Freeman indicated he would like to use the lot for parking but did not indicate what zoning would be requested in this application. . Parking requirements would be dictated by zoning. The application request requires a zoning. This remains incomplete in the application and the city cannot act to request until all requirements are received from applicant. Covenants follow this property, city attorney will be asked about these covenant requirements. Commission requested that - city attorney respond to these questions of the request. Mr. Freeman agreed that he would wait for net meeting to learn response of attorney. Mr. Freeman will gather additional information on covenants of the area for review by the city attorney. s. Noted that an easement across private'property would need-to be shown on Freeman request, and that the city would disallow access to Highway 6in this request due to adjacent access inclose proximity. Noted that 20 feet of additional setback is required along Highway 6 by ordinance. . Continued study of Subdivision Ordinance to-next meeting.. _ Building Inspector has requested a clarification on sidewalk elevations in the City of Tiffin Design Standards to improve implementation of same. , Motion Berner, second Reeve to recommend that the City of Tiffin City Council approve an amendement to the City of Tiffin Design Standards for the purpose of clarifying sidewalk elevations and construction requirements as requested by City of Tiffin Building Inspector. Ayes: Berner, Surine, and Reeve. Absent: Petersen, and Richardson. Motion carried. Drainage Ordinance will continue to be studied for future planning of the City.
