RESOLUTION: 2011 -31
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CLOSING OF W. THIRD ST BETWEEN MAIN ST AND
GRANT ST ON AUGUST 13, 2011 FOR SLIM'S STREET DANCE
WHEREAS: a request has been made by Slim's Saloon to close W. Third St. between
Main St. and Grant St. on the evening of Saturday, August 13, 2011 for a Street Dance from
8:OOpm to Midnight and to allow the consumption of alcohol beverages on the closed street.
WHEREAS: Slim's Saloon so states that they will provide Security Services during the
Street Dance open to the Public and police the consumption of alcohol beverages as per the
requirements of the special alcohol permit.
WHEREAS:SIim's will contact City of Tiffin Public Works for street closures and "No
Parking" signs. Slim's will be responsible for cleaning up litter from streets and private
property as needed following street dance.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: THE City Council approves the request to allow closure of
W. Third Street between Main St. and Grant St. on Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 8:00 to
Midnight.
On this 13th day of July 2011, at a regular meeting of Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Council
person Travis Weipert introduced Resolution 2011 -31 and made a motion for approval.
The motion was seconded by Council person Jim Bartels.
AYES: Chris Ball, Jim Bartels, Travis Weipert
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Mike Gericke, Mark Petersen
WHEREUPON, three votes approved, Mayor Phillips declared that Resolution 2011 -31 A
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CLOSING OF W. THIRD ST BETWEEN MAIN ST AND
GRANT ST ON AUGUST 13, 2011 FOR SLIM'S STREET DANCE be adopted and signified
his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
PASSED, AND APPROVED THIS 13TH DAY OF July 2011.
