Tiffin Planning and Zoning Commission December 3, 2003
Members present: Stephanie Surine and Melvin Reeve. Absent: Chair Steve Berner,
Terry Richardson and Mark Peteresen. No quorum. Also present: Mayor Glenn R.
Potter, Council Jim Bartels, and Karin Dils.
Engineer Doug Frederick was present to show members a possible plan for the Tiffin
Industrial Park for location at the SouthWest quadrant of the I-80 exchange. Frederick is
hopeful that things can be going on by this spring in this area. Sewer will be connected
from the area of the interchange. Plans are underway for three phase electric and gas.
Frederick asked the members to think about the condition of Ireland Avenue in this area.
The area would be benefited by a cut down of the current city/county road,but this will
be very expensive. Cutting it down this winter would cause difficult road passage over
the winter months. Frederick hoped that plans could be decided that with good weather,
this could be completed.
Members explained that future planning would be best suited to an east-west road across
the entirety of the parcel.
