AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE,
AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Transportation has grant funding available through its Safe
Routes to Schools Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond wishes to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used
for construction of sidewalks; and
WHEREAS, no local match is required for this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as
follows:
1. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Indiana
Department of Transportation through its program, Safe Routes to Schools.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Ninety -Six
Thousand Five Hundred Ninety -One Dollars ($96,591.00).
3. The City of Richmond is not required to provide a local match for such grant funds.
4. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated for the construction of
sidewalks in the City of Richmond in accordance with the terms of the grant.
