A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
OF A CONTRACT FOR PURCHASE OF AMERICAN
LEGION PROPERTY AT 5941 NORTH GOLDEN WEST,
TEMPLE CITY AS PART PERFORMANCE OF CITY'S
OBLIGATIONS UNDER JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT
WITH COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES RE CONSTRUCTION
OF NEW COUNTY LIBRARY FACILITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City has heretofore entered into a JOINT
POWERS AGREEMENT with the County of Los Angeles relative to
the creation of a new library facility in the City of Temple
City, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT the City
has agreed to acquire that certain real property located at
5941 North Golden West, Temple City, known and hereinafter
referenced as the American Legion property, and
WHEREAS, an agreement between the City and the American,
Legion has been prepared, a copy of which is attached hereto,
marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof as though set forth
in full, but which agreement may require minor modifications'
which will require consultation between the Mayor, City Manager
and the City Attorney, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to expedite the finali-
zation of the aforesaid contract,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
and directed to execute for and on the behalf of the City of
Temple City that certain agreement with the American Legion '
attached to and a part of this Resolution as Exhibit "A," sub-
ject to the provisions of Section 2, immediately below.
SECTION 2. The Mayor, City Manager and City Attorney are
hereby authorized to negotiate any modifications in the subject
agreement with the American Legion, (Exhibit "A ") so long as
the basic terms thereof are not modified and in particular so
long as no adjustment in the price consideration of :07,160.00
is made. Upon the Mayor, City Manager and City Attorney agree-
ing upon any changes or modifications, as aforesaid, the Mayor
and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the
agreement (Exhibit "A ") as modified and the Mayor and City
Clerk are further authorized to execute such other documents as
approved by the City Attorney, to carry out the intent of the
agreement (Exhibit "A ") as attached hereto, or as modified or
amended pursuant to the terms of this Section.
