HomeMy Public PortalAboutMinutes-06/03/2004 Tiffin Planning and Zoning Commission City of Tiffin Wednesday, June 3, 2004 6:30 p.m. Tiffin Fire Station Call to Order Minutes Old Business New Business Work on Zoning Ordinance Adjournment Tiffin Planning and Zoning May 5, 2004 A regular meeting of the Tiffin Planning and Zoning was brought to order by Chair Steve Berner at 6:30 p.m. at the Tiffin Fire Station, Wednesday, May 5, 2004. Members present: Steve Berner, Melvin Reeve, Ruth DeMuth, Stephanie Surine and Terry Richardson. Absent: None. Also present: Mayor Glenn Potter, Council Jim Bartels and Karin Dils. Motion Reeve, second DeMuth to approve the printed minutes. Ayes: Reeve, Berner, DeMuth, Richardson and Surine. Motion carried. Ralph Stoffer was present to answer questions in regard to zoning request presented by Grace-Bacculis Farm Partnership. The request is for 240 acres from agricultural to R-1 Single family zoning on the north end of the city. Stoffer said that at present work is expected directly north of Songbird Estates, with probably no early change in the remainder of the parcel. Surine advised that the study should begin serious study of the preliminary plans that lay out the area for Oakdale Boulevard in the north end of the city. An arterial road will be needed to deliver residents to both the south and east quadrants of the community. Motion Reeve, second Surine to recommend approval of the rezoning request made by Grace-Bacculis for zone from Agricultural to R-1 (single family.)to the city council. Ayes: Richardson, DeMuth, Surine, Berner and Reeve. Motion carried. Continued work on zoning ordinance, commission will move forward on industrial zone. Recommend to the building inspector that any extra dirt in the area be taken to help the cemetery. Motion DeMuth, second Surine to adjourn. Motion carried. 7:25 p.m. Margaret B. Reihman, Clerk
