HomeMy Public PortalAboutAAC Minutes 1995 09/06THE CITY OF McCALL AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 6, 1995 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Tucker at 12:24 p.m. Members Rick Fereday, Merrill Saleen, and Tom Tucker answered the roll call. Staff was represented by Gary Shimun, Airport Manager, and Kevin Bissell, Airport Improvement Project Engineer. Fixed Base Operators present were Kirk Braun, Pat Dorris, and Mike Dorris. Also present was Joel Droulard. Pat Dorris presented a request to lease additional property for fuel tanks. He requested property to the north and south of his present lease. Tucker moved and Fereday supported to recommend to City Council that McCall Air Taxi have first option to lease property on either side of their present location, contingent upon the needs identified in the Airport Master Plan. All were in favor. The motion passed unanimously. Fereday moved and Saleen supported to approve the minutes of the last meeting. The motion passed unanimously. Bissell reported on the status of the Airport Improvement Project. There are some pavement problems due to the rain, but he anticipates that they will be taken care of shortly. The Committee reviewed the Fly -Tie mechanism again. Fereday moved and Tucker supported to test one set of the Fly -tie downs if Fly -Tie will give them to us free. Damage to the new pavement on the airport by helicopters was discussed. It was not clear who caused the damage, but National Guard helicopters were suspected. Bissell was directed to have the repairs made and determine the cost. Shimun was to then submit the repair costs to the National Guard. It was also suggested that Milt Harshbager of Skyline Helicopters should be contacted about the damage. Their address is P.O. Box 819, Darby, Montana 59829, telephone number (509) 529-8508. Joel Droulard presented a proposal by Ballard Smith to develop lots C and D of Block 8 which were given up earlier this year by Flightline. He was directed to come back with a design that meets airport standards. Shimun was directed to ask Bill Keating, Superintendent of Public Works, to review the drainage between Manchester's hangar and McCall Air Taxi to see if it could be improved. There being no other business before the Committee, Fereday moved and Tucker supported to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.
