AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 1, 1995
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Tucker at 12:10 p.m. in the conference room of the
Toothman-Orton Engineering office at the McCall Municipal airport.
Members Tom Tucker, Mike Anderson, and Merrill Saleen answered the roll call.
Staff present were Gary Shimun, Dale Points, and Kevin Bissell.
Others present were Wayne Pickerill from the Idaho Department of Transportation, Division of
Aeronautics, and Kirk Braun of Pioneer Aviation.
Chairman Tucker directed that the item under old business to which Wayne Pickerill was to address
be brought forward on the agenda.
Wayne Pickerill presented a pavement maintenance management agreement program to the
Committee. Dale Points was directed to take and implement the program.
Anderson moved and Saleen supported to approve the minutes of the October 11, 1995 meeting. All
were in favor. The motion passed.
Bissell updated the Committee on the status of the Airport Improvement Project. He noted that all
work was complete.
Shimun gave an update of the Airport Master Plan.
Points gave a report on the Airport numbering system.
Anderson moved and Saleen supported to adopt the addressing system as presented by Points. The
motion passed unanimously.
Shimun handed out a job description for the position of Airport Manager. The Committee decided
to review and comment at its next meeting.
New Business
Chairman Tucker brought up the need to acquire more property for hangar lease. He recommended
that the triangle area north and west of the current spaces could be used until more land is purchased.
Helicopter approaches were a concern that would need to be addressed. Tucker will get with Dave
Rickerson for his input.
Staff was directed to place the question of fencing along the west side of the airport on next month's
agenda. Saleen will check with the smoke jumpers and report back.
The Committee next addressed the question of additional fencing along the north end of the airport
property immediately west of where the fence now ends. It was observed that people could still drive
onto the runway from that direction.
Saleen moved and Anderson supported to extend the fence to the northwest end of the jet ramp and
install a gate at the end of the current fence. A11 were in favor. The motion passed.
Bissell will look into the cost and report back to the Committee.
Anderson moved and Saleen supported to adjourn. The motion passed. The meeting came to a
conclusion at 1:42 p.m.
