Minutes from last weeks meeting were read and approved without any changes or additions. Staff reports on addressing - Chief Points stated that as soon as we establish whether we are going to pursue additional hanger space in the triangle between the diagonal taxiway and the east west taxiway, then we will assign permanent numbers by block and by hanger number. These will be in sequence. The City has sent letter to all persons who have reserved hanger space and they have until the end of the year to respond. Then they will have to execute their lease as a bare land lease until the development is complete. By next meeting we should know where we stand as far as available spaces. The question of moving the heliport was brought up, where it is now might affect any hanger development on the triangular piece between taxiways. There was some discussion about putting concrete pads just off the southern edge of the apron or somewhere more convenient. Chief Points was asked about the fence extension, which has been completed at a cost of $547.17. While the work was being done they put in a gate big enough for a semi. Dave was to be at this meeting to discuss Master Plan chapter 2. Chapter 3 is in the draft stage. He will be up next month to discuss both. There was some questions on existing leases. Chief Points will pull all leases and mark on a map who owns what. There was a question about the Ballard Smith lease. Chief Points stated that it is all but signed. Ready Room driveway - two trees have been removed and it will be completed in the Spring. Job description for Airport Manager. Waiting for complete package of job descriptions back from Gary so they have something to compare. Chief Points brought these to the meeting. Copies will be made and it will be discussed at the next meeting. Contract for work done this summer - we are still retaining 3% of the contract amount. The only thing holding this payment up is the subcontractor has not provided the City with some lein releases from some of the sub -contractors, a stipulation in the agreement that must be fulfilled. The subject of upgrading the AWOS was brought up again. There is not any left over money in the 1996 AIP funding for the NW Region. Right now we have two options - 1. put in for 1997 AIP and hope it doesn't get cut. This would take about 2 years before we could upgrade. 2. City could get ahold of the persons that upgrade this system - pay for it - then submit a request to the State Bureau of Aeronautics to split the cost. The earliest we would see a reimbursement, if this were approved, would be July. The cost of this upgrade would be about $35,000. A motion was made, seconded and approved to approach the City Council for this money.
