RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TEMPLE CITY DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER
PURSUANT TO THE TEMPLE CITY TRAFFIC CODE TO
ERECT ONE -WAY SIGNS MAKING THE ALLEYS NORTH
OF LAS TUNAS DRIVE FROM OAK AVENUE TO
KAUFFMAN ONE -WAY EAST -BOUND AND THE ALLEYS
SOUTH OF LAS TUNAS DRIVE FROM GOLDEN WEST
TO CLOVERLY ONE -WAY WEST - BOUND.
WHEREAS the Traffic Commission of the City of Temple City
has made exhaustive studies concerning the alley safety situa-
tion in the alleys north and south of Las Tunas Drive between
Oak Avenue and Kauffman on the south and Golden West and
Cloverly on the north, and
WHEREAS, the Traffic Commission did on October 8, 1962
recommend to the City Council that the alleys north of Las
Tunas Drive from Oak Avenue to Kauffman be one -way east -bound
and the alleys south of Las Tunas Drive from Golden West to
Cloverly be one -way west - bound,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Section 1408 of the Temple City
Traffic Code the City Council does hereby find that the width
of the highway immediately north of Las Tunas from Oak Avenue
to Kauffman and south of Las Tunas Drive from Golden West to
Cloverly are alleys by definition of Section 1203 of the Temple
City Traffic Code; that due to the amount of traffic thereon
and the availability of other highways the traffic upon said
alleys should proceed in one direction only, as follows:
(a) North of Las Tunas Drive from Oak Avenue to
Kauffman one -way east- bound.
(b) South of Las Tunas Drive from Golden West to
Cloverly Avenue one -way west - bound.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby directed to erect
and maintain in a conspicuous place on the above - described
alleys at the intersection of each alley with any other alley
or highway adequate signs bearing the words "ONE -WAY" and in-
dicating which way.
SECTION 3. The one -way traffic upon the above described
alleys shall become effective on January 2, 1963.
