Tiffin City Council July 20, 2005
A special joint meeting-of the Tiffin City Council and Tiffin Planning and Zoning
Commission was brought to order by Mayor Glen R. Potter, Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at
6:30 p.m. Meeting called for the purpose of hearing preliminary plans from Regency
Land Development for the northeast quandrant of the I-80 exit in Tiffin.
Councilmembers present:' Jim Bartels, Karin Dils, Sandy Huedepohl and Mike Gericke•
Absent: Mark Petersen PZ present: Chair Steve-Berner, Terry Richardson, Stephanie
Surine, Terry Richardson and Melvin Reeve.
Darryl High President of Regency Land Development Serivces gave preliminary
information on a 202 Acre. The plan is to include at least two water retention ponds with
trailing around them to serve the area and businesses to serve traveling tourist of the area.
Citizen asked if the developer will be interested in preserving some of the unique
environmental features of the surrounding area. Darryl said that the development would
hope to preserve any special highlights of the area and not interrupt special`features if at
all possible.
Mayor Potter announced that*more complete plans would be expected by the city and that
formal public hearing's would be needed prior to any work in the area. The city will need -
to work with the developer in traffic and road safety concerns for the entire area. City
officials will welcome community input for the development area and plans.
