NOV. 16, 1994
The regular meeting of the Town Board was called to order at 7:30
p.m. Board present were Acting Mayor Pro -tem Johnston, Wirsing,
Havens and Olson. Also present were Brown and Winter.
CHAMBER BUDGET REQUEST
Members of the Chamber reviewed the grant request and offered
information in support of the request. New Chamber Director
Steve Mikol was introduced to the Board. Chamber is asking for
the vendors fees in the estimated amount of $21000 plus and
additional $15,000 ,$8000 for more marketing and $7000 for
special event programs. Cathy Ross reviewed the new programs she
would like to sponsor. Board will take this under consideration.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as written.
WELL FIELDS
Ed Opitz reviewed the existing water system for the new Board
members and the new well locations with the proposed plan to get
the wells on line. The present well system produces
approximately water for 340 taps with another 40 taps with 2
wells that are presently down. The 2 new wells would add water
for 360 taps. Wirsing made a motion to have Brown pursue loan
application that the voters approved and have Opitz continue
engineering, 2nd Havens. carried.
JIM HOY
Jim reviewed for the new members the history of the work he is
doing at the Walk through History Park and the future work list.
Hoy also discussed several projects he is looking at to further
the marketing of the project. Hoy also reviewed that a grants
writing firm, Mitis, whom he is familiar with as they have done
work for other organizations, might be able to help in getting
grants for the costs of the sculptures etc. Brown and Hoy will
work on this project.
BUDGET WORKSHOP
Board did not have any questions on line items presented so far
in the budget. Board will work on the last item of review, the
community grants, and submit their line item amount for the
various organization to be tabulated by Brown and reviewed the
next meeting to be able to get into the final budget hearing Dec.
6th.
MANAGER EVALUATION 6:00 P.M. DEC. 6TH.
MANAGER REPORT
Brown reviewed the election results and congratulated the Board
members for polling the community and getting information out to
the electors on the issues.
Cast dinner meeting being held in Winter Park, if any of the
Board can attend they should let Brown know.
No further business, meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
