Potomac River Running Store Opens in Village at Leesburg
Ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.
Leesburg, VA (May 14, 2010) ‐ At 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2010, Town of Leesburg
officials will hold a ribbon cutting for Potomac River Running. Located at 1601 Village Market
Boulevard SE, Suite 120, in the Village at Leesburg mixed‐use center, the new store is Potomac
River Running’s eighth location in the DC metro area.
Potomac River Running is a family‐owned, locally‐based running and walking specialty store
offering the best in shoes, equipment, training programs and events. The store offers a wide
selection of footwear, apparel, and accessories to support active lifestyles. Potomac River
Running emphasizes customer service, with many free programs including Video Gait Analysis
on their in‐house treadmill, information clinics, informal group runs/walks, and their Running
101 beginner training programs.
In celebration of their grand opening, Potomac River Running will be hosting a number of
exciting events at their Leesburg location this weekend. On Saturday, May 15, starting at 12:00
p.m., visitors can enjoy a free lunch courtesy of Moe’s Southwest Grill. Local practitioners from
Beyond Wellness Chiropractic will be on hand to provide free chair massages, answer questions
and talk about their health methods using chiropractic, acupuncture and nutrition.
Additionally, Keith Dowling, Key Account Manager for Reebok Running and inaugural race
director for the National Marathon and Half Marathon, will be on hand.
Sunday, May 16 will feature a kick‐off all‐comer’s group Fun Run at 12:00 noon. At the
conclusion of the Fun Run, Mayor Kristen C. Umstattd will perform the ribbon cutting ceremony
and BBQ will be served courtesy of local triathlon training group, Team Z. Beyond Wellness
Chiropractic will once again be on hand to answer questions and talk about their healing
