HomeMy Public PortalAbout3242-1977 - APPROPRIATE FROM THE CUMULATIVE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND;CIGARETTE TAXORDINANCE NO. 3242-1977 AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE FROM CUMULATIVE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND (CIGARETTE TAX) WHEREAS, certain extraordinary emergencies have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money for the various functions of the City Government than was appropriated in the annual budget. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, WAYNE COUNTY, INDIANA: SECTION 1. That for the expenses of the City Government and its institutions for the year ending December 31, 1977, the following amount of money is hereby appropriated and set apart out of the fund -named and for the purpose specified. Said sum being subject to the law governing the same. Such amount appropriated shall be held to include all expenditures to be made during the year unless expressly stipulated by law. SECTION 2. That for the said fiscal period there is hereby appropriated from Cumulative Capital Improvement Fund (Cigarette Tax) the following specified amount to meet the extraordinary emergency hereby declared to exist: AMOUNT AMOUNT RE UQ ESTED APPROPRIATED CUMULATIVE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND (CIGARETTE TAX) $20,000.00 $20,000.00 TOTAL $20,000.00 $20,000.00 These funds are to be appropriated for the following: ENGINEERING AND SURVEYING OF WILLIAMSBURG PIKE SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and is subject to the laws of the State of Indiana governing emergency appropriations. The proof of publication and posting of notices were examined and found to be correct and in order. Councilman Mills moved the proof of publication and posting of notices be ecefvel and o red filed, seconded by Councilman Paus.t , and on voice vote the motion was carried. The Clerk read on second reading Ordinance No. 3242-1977 Councilman Mills moved for engrossment of Ordinance No. 3242-1977, seconded By Councilman Cornett and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried':. Councilman Mills moved to suspend the rules and place Ordinance No. 3242-1977 on third reading by title only, seconded by Councilman Paust. After hearing all persons present, Ordinance No. was placed on final passage or rejection and on a call of the ro e o owing was recorded.
