AUTHORIZING B & W
CONTRACTING TO
PERFORM EMERGENCY SEWER REPAIRS
AT LEBER AVENUE NOT TO EXCEED $12,000.00
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer, T&M Associates has advised the Governing
Body that certain emergency repairs are needed to be performed to the Borough's
storm sewer system in the vicinity of Leber Avenue and Hickory Street; and
WHEREAS, the Borough presently has an existing Emergency Sewer Services
Contract with B&W Construction which has submitted a proposal under said
contract to perform the services recommended by the Borough Engineer (see
attached correspondence from J. McKelvey, P.E., Supervising Engineer); and
WHEREAS, given the emergent nature of the repairs that need to be performed
the Borough is authorized to award a contract to B&W Construction to perform
said services in.the amount not to exceed $12,000.00 even though said
authorization will increase B&W's original contract amount by more than twenty
percent (20%); and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the
Borot gh of Carteret as follows:
1. That B&W Construction is hereby authorized to perform repairs to
sanitary sewer laterals and/or storm sewer connections in the vicinity of
Leber Avenue near Hickory Street pursuant to its existing Emergency
Sewer Services Contract at cost not to exceed $12,000.00.
2. That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Borough's
Purchasing Department and T&M Engineering for distribution to B&W
Construction.
Adopting this 18th day of December, 2003
