Home My Public Portal About1992-18ORDINANCE NO. 1992 -18 • AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SIZE OF DEPARTMENTS OF CITY GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA, FIXING SALARIES FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF SUCH DEPARTMENTS AND FIXING SALARIES OF CERTAIN OTHER APPOINTED OFFICIALS FOR THE YEAR 199 BEIT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, as follows: SECTION ONE That all eligible full -time members of the departments of the City of Greencastle shall be paid longevity beginning the first day of the anniversary month of the fourth year of service. Longevity shall be based on 3 %, 4 %, and 5% of base pay: at 3 -5 years, 3 %; 6 -11 years, 4 %; and 12 years and over, 5 %. Full -time members shall be compensated for authorized overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, 29 U.S.C.A. 207. SECTION TWO That the Police Department shall consist of eighteen (18) full -time members and in addition, part -time dispatchers in the maximum allowable number and five (5) part -time school crossing guards. Base pay ranges, including the maximum, shall be as • follows: P5- Police Chief $23,512.00 + longevity P5- Assistant Chief 21,552.00 + longevity P4- Captain (3) 20,548.00 + longevity ea. P3- Sergeant (3) 20,025.00 + longevity ea. P2- Patrolmen (4) 18,595.00- 19,595.00 + longevity ea. P1- Parking Violations Ofc. 13,400.00- 13,400.00 + longevity C3- Policc Secretary 14,900.00- 15,671.00 + longevity C3- Dispatchers (4) 14,900.00- 14,900.00 + longevity ea. C3- Dispatcher, (part -time C $5.50 hr.) 10,000.00 School Crossing Guards (5 C $9.50 da. ea.) 8,930.00 Longevity Total 8,550.00 SECTION THREE That the Fire Department shall consist of twelve (12) full -time members. Base pay ranges, including the maximum shall be as follows: P5 -Fire Chief $23,512.00 + longevity PS- Assistant Chief 21,552.00 + longevity P4- Captain (3) 20,548.00 + longevity ea. P3- Lieutenant (3) 20,025.00 + longevity ea. P2- Firefighter (4) 18,595.00 - 19,595.00 + longevity ea. . Longevity Total 7,882.00 SECTION FOUR That the Street Department shall consist of seven (7) full -time members and two (2) part -time member. Base pay ranges, including the maximum, shall be as follows: L5- Street Commissioner L4 -Crew Leader L3- Mechanic L2- Machine Operator -1 L2- Machine Operator -2 L1 -Truck Driver L1- Laborer Part -time (2 C $4.50 hr.) That the Sewage Department shall pay to each of the two (2) citizen members of the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the citizen members of the Board of Public Works and Safety on behalf of the Sewage Department during the year 1 the sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00). SECTION EIGHT That the Department of Water Works shall consist of eleven (11) full - time members and two (2) part -time members. On call wages shall be paid at a rate of One Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($150.00) per week. Base pay ranges, including the maximum, shall be as follows: M5- Superintendent MS- Assistant Superintendent M4- Service Foreman M4 -Field Foreman M3 -Meter Mechanic M2- Machine Operator M2 -Meter Reader M2 -Meter Reader M1- Laborer C4- Utility Office Mgr. That the Department of Water Works shall pay to the City Engineer of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the City Engineer on behalf of the Department of Water Works during the year 1993 the sum of Thirteen Thousand Three Hundred Dollars ($13,300.00).
