Metropolitan Sewer District Rate Commission:
Our town has experienced serious land/property issues with no assistance from MSD and at times has not
been treated very well, considering that Ferguson was the city that organized meetings to bring about a
VOTE to create St Louis Metropolitan Sewer District with four additional communities. MSD accepted all
the funds but did not make any improvements for years. It is amazing the way this city has been treated
after being instrumental in the acceptance.
If MSD wants another "YES" vote from the voters they need to determine how to help residents that are
losing their homes and land, in many cases their life savings, because storm watersheds were not
maintained in Ferguson. A home is an investment you make to hopefully live In after you retire. In local
subdivisions there has been no upkeep and other subdivisions receive multiple repairs. Residents do not
understand the choices (favors) that are happening.
MSD is an entity that should keep activities at arms length and all residents and subdivisions in areas
treated equally.
Possibly asking voters what they would like to see corrected as a brainstorming meeting would improve
how the people using your service perceive MSD. Choosing high visibility places to repair can cause more
harm than goodwill because residents see the same areas repaired multiple times.
Many voters have a very negative opinion of MSD. Big adjustments need to be made to improve relations
between MSD and the voters prior to bringing a tax increase to the voters.
