AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 (NUISANCES) OF THE CODE OF THE
CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, DEFINING A LANDOWNER'S RESPONSIBILITY
AS IT PERTAINS TO ABATEMENT OF NUISANCES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 21 (Nuisances) Sec. 21-3 (Prohibited) is amended as follows:
Sec. 21-3. Prohibited.
A. It shall be unlawful for any person to cause. permit. maintain or allow the creation or maintenance
of a nuisance.
B. It shall be the responsibility of any owner, lessee or occupant, or any agent, servant,
representative or employee of any such owner, lessee or occupant having control of any
occupied lot or land or any part thereof in the city to permit or maintain on any such lot or
land, or on or along the sidewalk, street or alley adjacent to the same between the property
line and the curb,any nuisance as defined herein and it shall be the duty of any owner, lessee
or occupant of any lot or land to remove or abate any such nuisance in accordance with
chapter.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its passage and
approval.
