PLAINFIELD BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS MINUTES
MAY 16, 2019
Commissioner Michael Nott called the May 16th, 2019 meeting of the Board of Police
Commissioners to order at 6:02 p.m. In attendance were Commissioner Nott, Commissioner
Chapman, Commissioner Gardner, Chief Konopek, Cindie Blazina, and Kim McKinney.
Public Forum: Citizen's Comments- None.
The minutes of the April 18th, 2019 meeting were read, and Commissioner Chapman
moved the minutes to be approved, Commissioner Gardner seconded the motion. All in favor.
Correspondence- None.
Old Business- The new 2019 Primary Eligibility Register was approved by the
Commission. This will now be sent off to IO Solutions for forwarding to all the current candidates.
New Business- Chief Konopek advised the Commission that the Police Department has
reserved two spots for the September 2019 Academy and requested permission to begin the vetting
process on the Top 5 Candidates. Commissioner Chapman motioned to approve.
After 25 years of service with Plainfield's Board of Police Commissioner's, Chairman Michael
Nott, has stepped down from the Board. This being his last meeting, we would like to thank him
for his dedication throughout the past century and wish him well in all his future endeavors.
Commissioner Chapman will now hold the status of Commission Chairman, and Commissioner
Gardner will take his place as Commission Secretary.
In addition, Kim McKinney has also taken place of Cindie Blazina as the Commission's
Administrative Assistant. Cindie will continue to work along with Kim as the transition unfolds.
Executive Session- Commissioner Nott moved the meeting be adjourned to Executive
Session at 6:17 p.m.
There being no further business or discussion, Commissioner Nott moved the meeting be
adjourned at 6:38 p.m.
