100.1 SUBJECT: ORGANIZATION AND POLICY
:1 OBJECTIVE:
Provide a City Government effective and responsive to needs of the electorate.
:2 AUTHORITY:
This procedure amended by City Council April 19, 1993.
:3 DIRECTION:
City Electorate.
:4 FUNCTIONS:
Orlando Municipal Government is divided into two branches: Legislative and Executive.
Legislative Branch:
Legislative authority is exercised by City Council.
Executive Branch:
Executive authority and responsibility for City administration is vested in and performed by the
Mayor as Chief Executive Officer.
:5 FORMS:
None.
:6 COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIES:
None.
:7 REFERENCE:
City of Orlando was incorporated on July 31, 1875, by a Special Florida Legislative Act. City
subsequently granted a Charter on February 4, 1885. Procedure adopted by City Council on
February 23, 1970; reviewed and found current April 21, 1975, Item 32; amended May 16,
1977, Item 6; amended February 25, 1985, Item 16(A-12).

This procedure effective April 19, 1993.
