Third Stakeholder Meeting Announced for Downtown
Improvement Project
Town to host final event before Town Council review
Leesburg, VA (May 28, 2010) – The third stakeholder meeting for the Town of Leesburg’s
Downtown Improvement Project has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at 7:00 p.m.
in the lower level of Town Hall. All interested businesses owners, property owners and residents are
once again invited to come and be part of the project.
The focus of this meeting, which will be the last before the Town Council reviews the recommended
projects in July, will consist of further refinement of the various projects that were unveiled at the
second stakeholder meeting held on May 13, 2010. The refinements are based on significant input
and comment received from the people in attendance at the May 13 meeting.
The first stakeholder event was held March 17, 2010, and the Town’s consultant received a host of
information from a variety of sources that was used to create illustrations of specific design
elements of the overall “design and implementation strategy.”
The design and implementation strategy that will emerge from this effort will be the roadmap for
various physical improvements associated the Downtown Improvement Project. Staff anticipates
Town Council review of the overall project in July. It is anticipated that construction could begin in
summer 2011.
Leesburg Town Hall is located at 25 West Market Street, Leesburg, VA 20178. Information about the
Town’s Downtown Improvement Project can be obtained by contacting the Project Manager, Scott
E. Parker, AICP, Assistant to the Town Manager at 703.771.2771, or sparker@leesburgva.gov.
