HomeMy Public PortalAboutr 03:374 No. _.03-374 Date of Adoption8 ,, 2003 APPROVING CHANGE ORDER # 2 DIAMOND CONSTRUCTION/ ROOSEVELT AVENUE PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the Borough of Carteret has previously awarded a contract to the Diamond Construction in the amount of $99,106.50 for the Roosevelt Avenue Pedestrian Improvements Project; and WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer for the project, T & M Associates, has advised the Governing Body tha~ ~ modification of the contract is reasonable and necessary and has recommended that the aforesaid contract be modified in accordance with Contract Change Order #2 (See attached); and WHEREAS, Change Order # 2 includes a change in the description of work to reduce and increase quantities to reflect as built conditions and to add supplemental items required for additional work; and WHEREAS, Change Order # 2 provides for a net increase in the contract price in the amount of $19,236.20 resulting in a revised contract price of $118,342.70, including all previously approved Change Orders; and WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer, T & M Associates has advised that the above described changes and/6r modifications to the project were unforeseen at the time of the award of the original contract. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Borough Council of the Borough of Carteret as follows: 1. That the Contract Change Order #2 attached hereto and made a part hereof, resulting in a net increase of $19,236.20 in the overall contract price, including all previous Change Orders, resulting in a revised contract price of$118,342.00 is hereby approved. 2. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to execute Change Order #2 based upon the recommendation of the Borough Engineer. 3. That the Borough Purchasing Department is hereby authorized to execute payment pursuant to Payment Certification No. 3 (See Attached). 4. A copy of this resolution and a fully executed copy of Change Order #2 be forwarded to T&M Associates for distribution to Diamond Construction.
