AN ORDINANCE: AMENDING SECTION 4-9 OF THE TOWN CODE REGARDING DOG LICENSE FEES
ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. Section 4-9, Article II, Amount of Licenses, is amended to
read as follows:
Sec. 4-9. Amount of licenses.
It shall be unlawful for any person to own a dog six months old
or over in the town unless such dog is licensed, as required by the
provisions of this ordinance. Dog licenses shall run by the calendar;
namely, from January first to December thirty-first, inclusive, and
the license tax shall be payable at the office of the ~easurer and
the license fee amounts shall be as follows:
Infertile males or females
Fertile males or females.
Kennel, up to and including 20 dogs
Kennel, up to and including 50 dogs

Provided, however, that no fee for a license shall be levied on any
dog that is trained and serves as a guide dog or that is trained and
serves as a police dog for any public law enforcement agency.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be effective upon its passage.
