AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE GREENCASTLE PLANNING AND ZONING
ORDINANCE BY AMENDING THE ZONING MAP
431 South Bloomington Street

WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the City of
Greencastle, has initiated and prepared this ordinance to
amend the Greencastle Planning and Zoning Ordinance by
amending the zoning map;
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Plan Commission has reported
that it held a public hearing concerning this ordinance on
August 26, 1991, after timely notice of the hearing was
given by publication in the Banner - Graphic, Greencastle,
Indiana on August 16, 1991;
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Plan Commission has reported
that it paid reasonable regard to the factors enumerated in
IC 36 -7 -4 -603 in consideration of the ordinance and
determination of a recommendation to be made to the Common
Council;
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Plan Commission has certified
this ordinance to the Common Council with a recommendation
by a majority vote in favor of adoption;
WHEREAS, the Common Council has considered the
recommendation of the Greencastle Plan Commission and has
paid reasonable regard to the factors enumerated in IC 36 -7-
4 -603 before acting on this ordinance;
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this
ordinance should be adopted without amendment as certified
® by the Greencastle Plan Commission. Therefore,

® BE IT ORDAINED AND ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA:
SECTION 1. REZONING
That the City of Greencastle Zoning Map, Chapter 806 -5
(b) of the City of Greencastle Code, is hereby amended by
changing the zoning classification for the following
described real estate from R- 2 - -Low Density Multi- Family
Residential to C- 3-- General Business District (limited to
use only as garden center /roadside produce sales stand):
Lots Numbered 8 and 9 in the Railroad
Enlargement to the Town, now City, of
Greencastle, Indiana, as the same appears of
record at Plat Book 1, page 25, in the office
of the Recorder of Putnam County, Indiana.
Also:
® A tract of land located in part of Lot 10 of
the Railroad Enlargement to the City of
Greencastle, more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at a point 99 feet west of the
southeast corner of Lot 10 of the Railroad
Enlargement to Greencastle; thence north 66
feet to a point; thence west 218.7 feet to a
point on the easterly line of Bloomington
Street; thence south 30 degrees 52 minutes
east along said easterly line to the south
line of Lot 10; thence east along said Lot
line to the place of beginning, and
containing in said tract of land 0.30 acres,
more or less.
This ordinance takes effect upon passage.
The Clerk- Treasurer of the City of Greencastle is
ordered to have this ordinance published by inserting a copy
of the ordinance in each of the two (2) sets of the City of

6 Greencastle Code maintained on file for public inspection in
the office of the Clerk- Treasurer.
THIS ORDINANCE was passed and adopted this 10th day of
September, 1991.

SYNOPSIS
This ordinance amends the Greencastle Zoning Map,
Chapter 806 -5(b) of the City of Greencastle Code to rezone
the real estate located at 431 South Bloomington Street (the
Northeast corner of the intersection of Bloomington Street
and Tennessee Street) from R- 2 - -Low Density Multi- Family
Residential to C- 3-- General Business District (limited to
use only as garden center /roadside produce sales stand).
