Town of Leesburg Seeks Volunteers for Boards & Commissions
Leesburg, VA (June 2, 2010) – The Town of Leesburg is seeking volunteers to serve on boards
and commissions that provide assistance and advice to the Town Council on a variety of
subjects. The Council will make a number of appointments on July 1, 2010, for two and four
year terms.
Leesburg residents interested in serving on a board or commission are invited to submit
statements of interest and qualifications to Lee Ann Green, the Leesburg Clerk of Council, by
Thursday, June 17, 2010. Materials can be submitted via email to lgreen@leesburgva.gov, by
regular mail to Clerk of Council, Town of Leesburg, P.O. Box 88, Leesburg, VA 20178, or hand‐
delivered to Town Hall at 25 West Market Street in downtown Leesburg.
Vacancies may not exist on all boards and commissions at the present time. Statements of
interest will be kept on file for consideration in the event of future vacancies.
The Town of Leesburg has fourteen Council‐appointed boards, commissions and committees,
which are:
• Airport Commission
• Board of Architectural Review
• Board of Zoning Appeals
• Economic Development Commission
• Environmental Advisory Commission
• Parks & Recreation Commission
• Planning Commission
• Commission on Public Art
• Residential Traffic Committee
• Technology & Communications Commission
• Thomas Balch Library Commission
• Tree Commission
• Utility Rate Advisory Committee
• Watershed Committee
