HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 63-283 Election: Calling Special Annexation ElectionRESOLUTION N0. 63 -283 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DECLARING -• ITS INTENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL ANNEX - ATION ELECTION, AND FIXING A TIME AND' PLACE FOR PROTESTS BY PROPERTY OWNERS BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Temple City: 1. That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Temple City to call a special election to be held in certain inhabited territory contiguous to said City, proposed to be annexed thereto, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors residing in said territory the question whether or not said territory shall be annexed to the city of Temple City. Said territory is described as follows: Being a portion of Tract No. 3623 as shown on a map record- ed in Book 40, Page 52 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder, Los Angeles County California, described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Muscatel - Avenue (40.00 Feet Wide) as shown on said map with the east- erly prolongation of the south line of Lot 48 of said Tract; thence westerly along said prolongation, said south line and its westerly prolongation to the northwest corner of Lot 33 of said Tract; thence southerly along the west line of said Lot 33 to the south line of Lot 49 of said Tract; thence westerly along the south line of Lots 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, and 55 of said Tract to the 'West line of Burton Avenue, for- merly Orange Avenue, (50.00 feet wide) as described in deed to County of Los Angeles recorded in Book 1488, page 361 of Official Records, in the office of said recorder; thence northerly along said West line to a point in the north line of Lot 58 of said Tract; thence easterly along the north line of Lots 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64 and 65 of said Tract and its easterly prolongation to the center line of said Muscatel Avenue; thence southerly along said center line to the POINT OF BEGINNING. 2. That said territory hereby is designated and identified as "Annexation 6 4, West Temple City, Inhabited ". 3. Notice hereby is given that on the 10th day of June, 1963! at the hour of ":00 P. M., in the,Council Chamber of the City Hall of. the City of Temple City, any person owning real property within said•territory so proposed to be annexed and-having any objection to:the proposed annexation may appear before said City Council and show cause why such territory.ihould not be annexed. Such protest must be in writing and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of the property affected by such annexation and the loca- tion and area of such property in general terms. If it be found 378 Res. 63 -283, page 2 that protest is not made by public and private owners equal to one -half of the value of the territory further proceedings shall be taken in accordance with the law for the holding of such spec- ial election. 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and cause the same to be published in the Temple City Times once a week for the two weeks prior to the Hearing.
