Clear-Creek Amana School Facility Design Committees And Oversight Task Force Initial Informational Meeting When Saturday, April 8t, 8:30 — 11:00-a.m. Where: High School Library in=Tiffin-Vr- Public Invited Tiffin Planning and Zoning Commission .. April 5, 2006 A regular meeting of the Tiffin Planning and Zoning Commission was brought to order by Acting Chair Melvin Reeve. Members present: Melvin Reeve, Terry Richardson, Stpehanie Surine, and Shawna Colvin. Absent: Steve Berner. Also present: Mayor Glenn R. Potter, Karin Dils, Ruth DeMuth, Bill and John Grace. Motion Surine, second Richardson to approve the minutes with correction that Surine was present. Ayes: Richardson, Colvin, Surine and Reeve. Motion carried.. Mark Portwood, Tyler Rogers and Doug Frederick were present to provide additional information on the IPL proposal for rezoning and subdivision plans directly west of Songbird Estates. Members provided input. Motion Reeve, second Colvin to approve'motion to recommendation to the the city council to approve change of zone for most of the area in the proposed area from R-1E to predominately R-1 single family zone, with an area of commercial along Highway 6 and R-4 on the north area, with a space of.R-1E in the northwest corner of approximately 8 acres. Ayes: Colvin, Surine, Reeve, and Richardson. Motion carried. Members agreed to meet in special meeting later in the month for the purpose of considering a subdivision request from IPL for the same area. A request was received from Joe Johnston for a rezoning request for an approximately 6 acre area west of Potter Street. The request appears identical to the request recently turned down by the city council. No one was present to provide information. The area is proposed for approximately 40 to 44 residential units.with°the developer using the tennis court area for street that Johnston had in previous meetings said would be constructed at developer cost. A drainage plan as not been received for this plan as requested by Planning and Zoning. Motion Reeve, second Colvin to recommend approval of R-4 zoning for this 6 acre area now zoned R-1E to the city council. Ayes: Richardson, Colvin, Reeve and Colvin. Motion carried. . z , . . Tiffin Planning and Zoning April 5, 2006 Randy Miller or Iowa Reality presdnted site plan for a lot located in the Industrial Park. Zoning commission provided input for the plans. Site plan for a car wash was received by the commission for a location at the corner of Main Street and Highway#6. No one was present to provide information. The proposal is moved to the May agenda. -Members requested more information on Oakdale route and future road routes for the next meeting. Motion carried to adjourn: 7:40 p.m. Margaret B.
