Home My Public Portal Aboutr 03:384No. 03-384 Date oi"Adoptior~eC-ernber 18 2003 AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH T&M ASSOCIATES- DRAINAGE STUDY AND PRELIMINARY DESIGN- PINHO AVENUE AND STIMA STREET WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of special engineering services to perform an analysis and preliminary design of proposed drainage improvements in the Pinho Avenue neighborhood; and WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer, Donald J. Norbut, has submitted a proposal to perform the necessary field summary and preliminary design proposal at a cost not to exceed $9,500.00, a copy of said proposal is attached hereto and made a part hereof; and WHEREAS, the Governing Body has reviewed said proposal and the Chief Financial Officer has certified that the funds are, or will be, available to perform said engineering services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows: 1. That T&M Associates is hereby authorized to perform field survey and preliminary engineering work to evaluate the local flooding problems in the Pinho Avenue area in accordance with its proposal at a total cost not to exceed $9,500.00. 2. That annexed hereto is a copy of said proposal. 3. That this action is approved as an award of a professional services contract. 4. That a copy of this Resolution be forWarded to the Borough's Purchasing Department and T&M Associates. However, in order to haw an und,rsts.nd~g of the local flooding problems, it will be aece~m'y for our office to ~onCiaot n limited site investigation, including field sm'roy work to obtai~ as-built information of the existing dramag~ in the area. It is anticipamd ~.at this site investigation and field survey work will require approxlmatcly six man days of work and is estirm~l~d at $4,100.00. Once the s~:rvey and tie[d informatin~ am obtained, the rtext step we propose is to conduct an aragys[s of r.h¢ existing drainage system within the drainage atoa in question. The analysis will provide a better andarst~ding of the !imlts and cause of the residential flooding so that we may dovelop alternative conceptS and provide preliminery design r¢la~d to the preferred eonaept. It is anticipated that the analysis and offic~ work assoclatad with project iii developing dea~gO concept is $5,400.00.
