ORDINANCE NO. 85-0-3 ADOPTED February 13, 1985
AN ORDINANCE: AMENDING TIlE LEESBURG ZONING ORDINANCE REGARDING COMPOSITION OF
THE BOARD OF ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW
WHEREAS, the General Assembly has approved amendments to the Charter of the
Town of Leesburg to provide for Council appointment of the Board of
Architectural Review; and
WHEREAS, on January 9, 1985 the Town Council initiated an amendment of the
Leesburg Zoning Ordinance regarding composition of the Board of Architectural
Review; and
WHEREAS, a joint public hearing of the Leesburg Planning Commission and the
Town Council was held on the proposed amendment on February 13, 1985, pursuant
to Section 15.1-431 of the Code of Virginia as amended; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recommended adoption of the proposed
amendment on February 13, 1985:
THEREFORE RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. Section 10A-4-2 of the Leesburg Zoning Ordinance is 'hereby
amended to read as follows:
10A-4-2 Effective July 1, 1985, the term of office for the members shall
be for three years, except that the term of the Council member and
Planning Commission member shall correspond to their official
tenure of office. Appointments mad~ prior to that date shall
expire accordin~ to the followin~ sequence:
(a) One member's term shall expire on June 30~ 1985.
(b) Two members' terms shall expire on June 30; 1986.
(c) Two members' terms shall expire on June 30~ 1987.
Any appointed member of the Board may be removed from office by
the Council after public hearing for inefficiency, neglect of
duty, or malfeasance or other just cause after charges made in
writing. Appointments to fill vacancies shall be only for the
unexpired portion of the term. Members may be reappointed to
succeed themselves. The Director of Planning, Zoning and Develop-
ment shall be the Board's secretary.

Ail prior ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed.
This ordinance shall be in effect upon its passage..
