FLOOD ORDINANCE AMENDMENT OF THE MUNICPAL CODE OF TIFFIN, IOWA;
AMENDING MAP NOTED IN ORDNANCE NO. 2002-256, ORDINANCE NO. 185
AND ORDINANCE NO. 252 AND ADOPTING THE FLOOD INSURANCE RATE MAP
(FIRM) PANELS 154, 158, 159, 160, 166, AND 167 PREPARED AND DATED February
16, 2007 AND DECLARED TO BE THE OFFICIAL FLOOD PLAIN ZONING MAP
BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIFFIN, IOWA:
Section 1. Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to amend the "Flood Plain
Management Ordinance and Map" adopted in 2002, of the Municipal Code of Tiffin, Iowa,
by adopting the following:
Section 2. Amendment.
Establishment of Official Flood Plain Zoning Map
The Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM), Panels 154, 158, 159, 160, 166, and 167 prepared as part of
the Flood Insurance Study for Johnson County, the City of Tiffin, dated February 16, 2007 are
hereby adopted by reference and declared to be the Official Flood Plain Zoning Map. The flood
profiles and all explanatory material contained with the Flood Insurance Study are also declared to
be a part of this ordinance.
Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of
this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. Severability. If any section, provision, or part of this Ordinance shall be adjudged
to be invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a
whole, or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 5. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be in effect after its final passage, approval,
and posting as provided by law.
On the 13th day of December 2006, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa,
Councilperson Dils introduced Ordinance No. 2006-284, and moved that it be given its first reading.
The motion was seconded by Councilperson Petersen.
Ayes: Petersen, Wright, Demuth, Dils, and Bartels
Nays: None Absent: None

Five members of the council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Glen R. Potter declared
the motion carried, and Ordinance No. 2006-284, FLOOD ORDINANCE AMENDMENT was read
the first time and discussed and placed on record.
Thereupon, it was moved by Councilperson Wright and seconded by Councilperson Bartels that the
laws and rules providing that ordinances be considered and voted on for passage at two council
meetings prior to the meeting at which it is to be finally passed be suspended and dispensed with
and that Ordinance No. 2006-284 be placed on its last reading.
Ayes: Bartels, Dils, Demuth, Petersen and Wright
Nays: None Absent: None
Five members of the council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Glen R. Potter declared
the motion carried, and Ordinance No. 2006-284, FLOOD ORDINANCE AMENDMENT was then
placed on its last reading and was read the last time.
Thereupon it was moved by Councilperson Dils and seconded by Councilperson Demuth that
Ordinance No. 2006-284 be placed upon its final passage and adopted.

Nays: None Absent: None
Five members of the council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Glen R. Potter declared
the motion carried, and the ordinance No. 2006-284, FLOOD ORDINANCE AMENDMENT was
passed and adopted.
Whereupon the mayor declared that Ordinance No. 2006- 284 and entitled, FLOOD ORDINANCE
AMENDMENT be adopted and signified his approval of same by fixing his signature thereto.
• Passed by the council on the 13th day of December 2006 and approved by the mayor on the 13th day
of December 2006.
ADOPTED AND PASSED by the City Council of the City of Tiffin this 13th day of December,
2006.

I, Clerk of the City of Tiffin, Iowa, state that on Ordinance entitled FLOOD ORDINANCE
AMENDMENT OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF TIFFIN, IOWA; AMENDING MAP NOTED
IN ORDINANCE NO. 2002-256, ORDINANCE NO. 185 AND ORDINANCE NO. 252 AND
ADOPTING THE FLOOD INSURANCE RATE MAP (FIRM) PANELS 154, 158, 159, 160. 166,
AND 167 PREPARED AND DATED February 16, 2007 AND DECLARED TO BE THE
OFFICIAL FLOOD PLAIN ZONING MAP and known as No. 2006-284 was duly passed by the
Tiffin City Council on the 13th day of December 2006, and signed by the Mayor on the 20th day of
December, 2006 and published on the 4th day of January, 2007 by posting copies thereof in three
public places within the limits of the City of Tiffin, Iowa.
That I posted copies of Ordinance no. 2006-284 in the following places: Morgan's Service, On the
Go Convenience bp Amoco Store and Solon State Bank of Tiffin.
