AN ORDINANCE: AMENDING SECTION 2.1-2 OF THE TOWN CODE REGARDING THE ORGANIZATION
OF THE AIRPORT COMMISSION
ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. Section 2.1-2 of the Town Code is amended as follows:
Sec. 2.1-2. Airport commission created.
The Leesburg Airport Commission consisting of s~x seven members and
hereinafter cal~ed the "commission" is created. ~he-member~-sha~½~be-ap-
po~meed-by-ehe-eonnc~½ The council shall appoint all member~ who shall be
residents of the town, for terms of four years each beginning on July 1st
of the year of appointment, except for any member with a term expiring
June 30, 1986, now residing outside the town, which said member's term
shall expire June 30, 1987, and which said member may not be appointed
to a successive term unless he meets the residency requirement of this
section. An appointment to fill a vacancy shall be for the unexpired
term. A member of council shall be appointed by council as a voting mem-
ber of the commission for a term ¢on¢~rren~-w~h-~he-member~-~erm-o~
o{{~¢ev beginning on July 1 of each year in which a general municipal
election is held and continuing until June 30 of the next year in which
a general municipal election is held, not to exceed two years.
The commission shall elect its ¢onwenor chairman and vice chairman
annually and may elect one of its members as its secretary. The commis-
sion shall meet monthly or as determined by the commission.
SECTION II. Ail prior ordinances and resolutions in conflict herewith are
repealed.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall become effective July 1, 1986.
