• AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE GREENCASTLE PLANNING AND ZONING
ORDINANCE BY AMENDING THE ZONING MAP
(3.44 ACRES ON MANHATTAN ROAD)
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the City of Greencastle, has
initiated and prepared this ordinance to amend the Greencastle
Planning and Zoning Ordinance by amending the zoning map;
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Plan Commission has reported that
it held a public hearing concerning this ordinance on January
28, 1991, after timely notice of the hearing was given by
publication in the Banner - Graphic, Greencastle, Indiana on
January 19, 1991;
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Plan Commission has reported that
it paid reasonable regard to the factors enumerated in IC 36 -7 -4-
603 in consideration of the ordinance and determination of a
• recommendation to be made to the Common Council;
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Plan Commission has certified this
ordinance to the Common Council with a recommendation by a
majority vote in favor of adoption;
WHEREAS, the Common Council has considered the
recommendation of the Greencastle Plan Commission and has paid
reasonable regard to the factors enumerated in IC 36 -7 -4 -603
before acting on this ordinance;
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this
ordinance should be adopted without amendment as certified by the
Greencastle Plan Commission. Therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED AND ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
• OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA:
SECTION 1. REZONING
That the City of Greencastle Zoning Map, Chapter 806 -5 (b)
of the City of Greencastle Code, is hereby amended by changing
the zoning classification for the following described real estate
from AG-- Agricultural to R- 1-- Single Family Residential:
Situate in the State of Indiana, County of Putnam
and being a part of the Northeast. quarter of the
Southwest quarter and part of the Northwest
quarter of the Southeast quarter, all in Section
29, Township 14 North, Range 4 West of the Second
Principal Meridian, more particularly described
to -wit:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of the East
half of the Southwest quarter of Section 29,
Township 14 North, Range 4 West; thence South
412.5 feet with the West line of said East half
• quarter; thence North 86 degrees 30 minutes East
1935.12 feet to the centerline of the Greencastle -
Manhattan Road; thence South 18 degrees 48 minutes
38 seconds West (prior deed South 19 degrees 30
minutes West) 539.40 feet with the centerline of
said road to the point of beginning of real estate
herein described; thence from said true point of
beginning South 18 degrees 48 minutes 38 seconds
West (prior deed South 19 degrees 30 minutes West)
269.72 feet with the centerline of said road;
thence leaving said centerline North 84 degrees 37
minutes 49 seconds West 491.77 feet; thence North
75 degrees 20 minutes 35 seconds West 98.99 feet;
thence North 24 degrees 17 minutes 20 seconds East
254.30 feet; thence South 85 degrees 12 minutes 46
seconds East 569.73 feet to the true point of
beginning, containing 3.44 acres, more or less.
This ordinance takes effect upon passage.
The Clerk- Treasurer of the City of Greencastle is ordered to
have this ordinance published by inserting a copy of the
ordinance in each of the two (2) sets of the City of Greencastle

the Clerk- Treasurer.
THIS ORDINANCE was passed and adopted this 12th day of
March, 1991. /

SYNOPSIS
This ordinance amends the Greencastle Zoning Map, Chapter
806 -5(b) of the City of Greencastle Code to rezone 3.44 acres
located on Manhattan Road in Section 29, Greencastle Township
from AG-- Agricultural to R- 1-- Single Family Residential
(Petitioner: Loretta Huff).
