AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2325-1968 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE
ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, ADOPTED JUNE 3,
1968.
BE IT ORDAINED BY the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
as follows:
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, the Zoning Map which is part of Ordinance No.
2325-1968, designates and describes as R-3, ONE TO EIGHT FAMILY
RESIDENCE DISTRICT, the following described property located at
16 North 17th Street, in the City of Richmond, Indiana, more parti-
cularly described as follows:
Lot Number Seven (7) in that part of the City of Richmond
laid out by Price & Ferguson.
SECTION 2. WHEREAS, it is the intent and purpose hereof to change the
zoning classification of the above described area from R-3 Multi -family
Residential to C-2 Community Business District, and,
SECTION 3. WHEREAS, a study of this Ordinance was conducted by the
Richmond City Plan Commisson the day of ,
1976, at which time remonstrances were heard from all parties interested
in or affected by this Ordinance.
SECTION 4. WHEREAS, the vote of the Richmond City Plan Commission was
to in favor of/in opposition to recommending the
passage of Ordinance No. 3069-1976.
NOW THEREFORE:
SECTION 5. It is hereby ordained that the zoning classification of the
above described property be, and the same is hereby changed to..C-2
Community Business District, and that said property be regulated in
accordance with the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
and all amendments thereto.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval as by law required.
SECTION 7. The original zoning classification of the aforementioned
area is hereby rescinded and the zoning classification of this area will
be in accordance with Section 2 of this Ordinance.

Case No. 76-4, a request to change zoning
from R-3 to C-2
Dear Mr. Mills, Members of the Council & Mrs. Trimble:
The Richmond City Plan Comdssion held a public he
on Tues-
day; A�iri1 13, 1976, at 7:30 p.m, in the Council Cianbers of the
Richmond M�micipal Building, to hear the request of World Life
and Accident Association, Inc., 1614 East Main Street, repre-
sented by Mr. Donald E. Alexander, President, requesting zoning
be changed from R-3 to C-2 an property located at 16 North 17th
Street. The proposed use of this .property is to provide off
street parking essential to customers of Elizabeth Parker's
Restaurant, 1616 East Main Street, whose property and building
is in zone C-2 District, directly across the alley from the sub-
ject property.
Neighbors in the area were contacted and there were no objections.
All parties interested in or affected by this request were heard.
There was no one present who spoke in opposition.
The Plan Cmnission voted six (6) to zero (0) to approve the re-
zoning and forward the request to Coy = Council.
