HomeMy Public PortalAbout3079-1976 - APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF 6000 FROM THE GENERAL FUNDORDINANCE NO. 3079-1976 AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS ($6,000.00) FROM THE GENERAL FUND CASH OPERATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, POLICE DIVISION, OTHER GARAGE AND MOTOR SUPPLIES. WHEREAS, certain extraordinary emergencies have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money for the various functions of the City Government than was appropriated in the annual budget. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA: SECTION 1. That for the expenses of the City Government and its institutions for the year ending December 31, 1976, the following amount of money is hereby appropriated and set apart out of the fund named and for the purpose specified. Said sum being subject to all laws governing the same. Such amount appropriated shall be held to include all expenditures to be made during the year, unless expressly stipulated by law. SECTION 2. That for the said fiscal period, there is hereby appro- priated from the General Fund, Cash Operating, the following specified amount to meet the extraordinary emergency hereby declared to exist: AMOUNT REQUESTED AMOUNT APPROPRIATED OTHER GARAGE & MOTOR SUPPLIES $6,000.00 $6,000.00 SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and is subject to the laws of the State of Indiana governing emergency appropriations. EXCERPTS OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building of said City May 17, 1976 at the hour of 7:30 P.M. Councilman Mills presided with the following members present: Messrs. Ahaus , usterman Carter Cornett , Elstro Merchanthouse Paust Williams , Absent: None The following business was had to -wit: (OTHER BUSINESS HAD) The Clerk presented proof of publication of Notice to Taxpayers printed in the Richmond Palladium Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of May 6th I and May 13th Said notices stated that a public hearing Zu ld on the ply o May, 1976 , by the Common Council to consider additional appropria- Ons as prov1diM& in Ordinance No. 3079-1976 , within the City of Richmond, Indiana. The proof of publication posting of notices were examined and found to be correct and in order. Councilman Elstro moved the proof of publication and posting of notices be received'and ordered filed, seconded by Councilman Williams, , and on voice vote the }notion was carried. The Clerk read on second reading Ordinance No. .3079-1976 Councilman Williams moved for engrossment of Ordinance No. 3079-1976, seconded by Councilman Elstro and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Councilman Cornett moved to suspend the rules and place Ordinance 3079-1976 on 3rd reading by title only, seconded by Councilman Williams and on unanimous voice vote. the motion was carried.
