AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 2518-1971, AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING
A DEVELOPMENT UNIT PROJECT, IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLES 45 AND 48 OR ORDI-
NANCE NUMBER 2325-1968, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF RICHMOND, INDIANA.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, has enacted
Ordinance No. 2518-1971 authorizing a Development Unit Project pursuant to
Ordinance No. 2325-1968, commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, and,
WHEREAS, said Ordinance provided for the construction of a community shopping
center to be located at 2031 Chester Boulevard, Richmond, Indiana, and more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a stone in the middle of the Richmond and Newport
Turnpike Road and 116 rods south of the northwest corner of the
southwest quarter of Section 21, Township 14, Range 1 west;
thence south 8 rods to the middle of said gravel road 80 rods
to a stake or stone; thence north 8 rods to a stone corner;
thence west 80 rods to the place of beginning, containing 4
acres, more or less.
Part of the southwest quarter of section 21, township 14, range
1 west, bounded and described as follows; to wit: Beginning at
a stone in the middle of the Richmond and Newport Turnpike Road
108 rods south of the northwest corner of said quarter section,
running thence south 8 rods; thence east 80 rods; thence north
8 rods; thence west 80 rods to the place of beginning, containing
4 acres more or less. Also, part of the southwest quarter of
Section 21, Township 14, Range 1, beginning tt the intersection
of a road with the west line of said quarter section, said point
of intersection being 36.30 rods north of the southwest corner
of said quarter section; and running thence east with said road
49.84 rods; thence south 4.815 rods to an iron pipe; thence west
49.84 rods to the west line of said quarter section; thence, north
4.815 rods to the place of beginning, containing 1-1/2 acres, more
or less, EXCEPT a part of the southwest quarter of section 21,
Township 14 North, Range 1 West, beginning at a point, said point
being 524.5 feet north and 740.5 feet east of the southwest corner
of the southwest quarter of Section 21, and running thence east 60
feet to an iron pipe; thence north 79,45 feet to the center of a
roadway; thence, west along said roadway 60 feet; thence south
79.45 feet to the place of beginning, containing an area of .11
acres, more or less. EXCEPTING ALSO, a part of the southwest
quarter of Section 21, Township 14 North, Range I West in Wayne
Township, Wayne County, Indiana, and being more particularly de-
scribed as follows: to -wit: Beginning at a point, said point
being 524.5 feet north and 740.5 feet east of the southwest corner
of the southwest quarter of Section 21 and running thence west 120
feet; thence north 79.45 feet to the center of a roadway; thence,
east along said roadway 120 feet; thence, south 79.45 feet to the
place of beginning, containing an area of 0.22 acre, more or less.
SUBJECT to a right-of-way for purposes of ingress and egress to
and from U.S. Road #27 along the roadway mentioned in the above

estate and west to said U.S. Road #27.
It is the intent of this Ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 2518-1971 t6 include
the following described property:
Being a part of the Southwest Quarter of Section Twenty-one (21),
Township Fourteen (14) North, Range One (1) West in Wayne Town-
ship, Wayne County, Indiana and being more particularly described
as follows:
Begtr*ning at a point five hundred twenty-four and five tenths
(524.5) feet north of the southwest corner of the southwest
quarter of said section twenty-one (21) and running thence
east, six hundred twenty and five tenths (620.5) feet; thence
south, parallel to the west line of said quarter, seventy-nine
and thirty-five hundredths (79.35) feet; thence west six hundred
and twenty and five tenths (620.5) feet to the west line of said
quarter; thence north, on said west line, seventy-nine and thirty-
five hundredths 479.35) feet to the place of beginning, containing
an area of one and thirteen hundredths (1.13) acres, more or less.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, that Ordinance No. 2518-1971 is hereby amended to include the addi-
tional property as described above,
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval by the Mayor and publications as by law required.

Dear President Mills, Council Members and Mrs. Trimble:
The Richmond City Plan Commission held a public hearing on Tuesday,
June 22, 1976, at 7:30`P.M., in the Council Chambers of the Rich-
mond Municipal Building on the petition of Charles Miles, Inc.,
2001 Chester Boulevard, requesting to extend existing combined
residential -commercial Planned Unit Development south 79.35 feet
to University Boulevard.
All parties interested in or affected by this request were heard.
Forty (40) letters were mailed to adjoining property owners and
three (3) were returned unopposed.
The Plan Commission voted six (6) to zero (0) to recommend approval
of the amendment and send to Common Council with the attached condi-
tions (see Exhibit A). Commissioners Austerman, Bartz and Kyle
were not present at the meeting.
