A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF FOUR 2020 FORD EXPLORER
POLICE PATROL VEHICLES USING CAPITAL ASSET
REPLACEMENT FUNDS AS APPROVED IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2020
BUDGET
WHEREAS, the purchase of four new 2020 Ford Explorer police patrol vehicles was
approved in the Fiscal Year 2020 budget; and
WHEREAS, three of the current patrol vehicles have reached the end of their useful life as
patrol vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the existing vehicles have reached a point where it is not cost effective to keep
. them in the active current inventory of equipment; and
WHEREAS, there is a rideable contract available to procure this equipment; and
WHEREAS, the appropriation within the Capital Asset Replacement Program Fiscal Year
2020 budget is sufficient for these purchases; and
WHEREAS, no additional funding is needed.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Town Manager is hereby authorized to proceed with the purchase of four 2020 Ford Explorer police
patrol vehicles in an amount not to exceed $140,566.
