Home My Public Portal About2020_03_24_R050 Morven Park Road Sidewalk Project - Waterline DesignThe Town of Leesburg, Virginia RESOLUTION NO. 2020-050 PRESENTED: March 24, 2020 ADOPTED: March 24, 2020 A RESOLUTION: APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE DESIGN CHANGE ORDER NO. 3 IN THE AMOUNT OF $67,133.55 FOR THE MORVEN PARK ROAD SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, the original design contract for the Morven Park Road Sidewalk Improvement Project was awarded to Whitman Requardt Associates, Inc. in the amount of $251,400; and WHEREAS, two change orders have been previously authorized on this project totaling $13,518.18 which results in a current contract amount of$264,918.18; and WHEREAS, Change Order No. 3 is necessary to complete the design of a complete waterline replacement with this project in the amount of $67,133.55, and results in a revised contract value of $332,051.73; and WHEREAS, the contractual increase by Change Order No. 3 causes the contract amount to be exceeded by the greater of25% or $50,000; and WHEREAS, the Virginia Public Procurement Act and the Town's Procurement Policy require that change orders that cause the contract to be exceeded by the greater of 25% or $50,000 be approved by Town Council; and WHEREAS, the Morven Park Road Sidewalk Improvements and the Town-wide Waterline Improvements and Repairs projects have sufficient funds in their budgets to cover the associated costs; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Capital Projects and the Director of Utilities recommend approval of this change order. THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that Change Order No. 3 in the amount of $67,133.55 is hereby approved, and the Town Manager is -2- A RESOLUTION: APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE DESIGN CHANGE ORDER NO. 3 IN THE AMOUNT OF $67,133.55 FOR THE MORVEN PARK ROAD SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT authorized to execute Change Order No. 3 to the design contract with Whitman Requardt Associates, Inc. for the Morven Park Road Sidewalk Improvement Project in the amount of$67,133.55.
