Storer passed away on December 21, 2000, at Idaho Falls, Idaho; WHEREAS, Mayor Storer served as a member of the City Council of the City of Iona from May of 1961 to January of 1968; and whereas, he also served as Mayor from January, 1968, until January of 1988, comprising a period of service to the City and the community of nearly twenty-seven (27) years; WHEREAS, Mayor Storer devoted his life to serving the community including, among other things, improving and enhancing the City water and sewer systems, improvement of the Iona Town Square and recreational facilities located therein, enhancement of fire protection facilities and services, improvement of streets and street lighting and rehabilitation of the Stanger Memorial building; WHEREAS, Mayor Storer devoted countless hours in the service of this community, with nominal pay and infrequent public recognition. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that in recognition of such longstanding community service and in grateful appreciation for Mayor Storer's service as a dedicated public servant, the City Council Chambers located in the Iona Community Center be and hereby are named as the Willis A.
