Changes to the Town’s Roadway Network Policy Map
Proposed
Informational meeting scheduled for June 24, 2010 to discuss Town Plan
amendment
Leesburg, VA (June 18, 2010) – On Thursday, June 24, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the Lower Level of
Town Hall (25 West Market Street), Town of Leesburg officials will hold a public informational
meeting to discuss several proposed changes to the Town’s Roadway Network Policy Map. A
part of the Town Plan, this map outlines the ultimate configuration of the Town’s
transportation infrastructure and planned improvements to the road network.
The proposed changes are all located within the Route 7 (East Market Street) corridor on the
east side of Leesburg, outside the bypass. The Roadway Network Policy Map was last amended
in 2005, when the current Town Plan was adopted by the Council. Since then, a number of
development projects have been proposed, approved or completed, changing the current and
projected traffic demands in this area. These proposed changes to planned roadway
improvements will be the subject of a Town Plan amendment (TLTA-2010-0001) and include:
• Replacing the planned overpass of Battlefield Parkway at Russell Branch Parkway with
an at-grade intersection.
• Removing the planned overpass of Keystone Drive at Route 7 (East Market Street), with
Keystone Drive to terminate in cul-de-sacs north and south of Route 7.

• Removing the planned section of Trailview Boulevard between Keystone Drive and
Battlefield Parkway.
At the informational meeting on June 24, 2010, Town staff will provide details about these
changes to the Roadway Network Policy Map, answer questions from the public and explain the
Town Plan amendment process.
