HomeMy Public PortalAbout3146-1976- APPAROPRIATE 20000 FROM THE CUMULATIVE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUNDORDINANCE NO. 3146-1976 AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000.00) FROM THE CUMULATIVE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND (CIGARETTE TAX). WHEREAS, certain extraordinary emergencies have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money for various functions of the City Government than was appropriated in the annual budget. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND. INDIANA: SECTION 1. That for the expenses of the City Government and its institutions for the year ending December 31, 1976, the following amount of money is hereby appropriated and set apart out of the fund named and for the purpose specified. Said sum being subject to all laws governing the same. Such amount appropriated shall be held to include all expenditures authorized to be made during the year, unless expressly stipulated by law. SECTION 2. That for the said fiscal period there is hereby appropriated from the Cumulative Capital Improvement Fund (Cigarette Tax) the following specified amount to meet the extraordinary emergency hereby declared to exist: AMOUNT AMOUNT REQUESTED) APPROPRIATED CUMULATIVE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND (CIGARETTE TAX) $20,000.00 $20,000.00 TOTAL $20,000.00 $20,000.00 These funds are to be appropriated for the following project: To purchase real estate for off street parking within the first block north of Main Street which lies east of North loth Street. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and is subject to the laws of the State of Indiana, governing emergency appropriations. Councilman Mills presided with the following members present: Messrs. The proof of Publication and posting of notices were examined and found to be correct and in order. Councilman p moved the proof of publication and posting of notices be received-andordered filed, seconded by Councilman Ahaw- , and on voice vote the motion was carried. The Clerk read on second reading Ordinance No. 3146.-1976 • November 1 & 15th Councilman Paust moved for engrossment of Ordinance No. 3146-1976, seconded by Councilman Mills and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Councilman Austerman moved to suspend the rules and place Ordinance No. 3146-1976 on third reading by title only, seconded by Councilman Elstro. Councilman Merchanthouse voted no. On December 6, 1976, the Clerk read on third reading by title only Ordinance No. 3146-1976.
