HomeMy Public PortalAbout3160-1976- AMENDING ORDINANCE 2325-1968 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCEORDINANCE NO. 3160-1976 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2325-1968 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, ADOPTED JUNE 3, 1968. BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: SECTION 1. WHEREAS, the zoning Map which is a part of Ordinance No. 2325-1968, designates and describes as R-3 One -to -Eight Family Resi- dence District and R-4 Multi -Family Residence District, the following properties: 1. 1803-1829 East Main Street 2. 21-35 South 18th Street 3. 28-36 South 19th Street Also described as Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 & 24 in that part of Linden Hill laid out by John P. Smith and others. SECTION 2. WHEREAS, it is the intent and purpose hereof to change the zoning classification of the above described area from R-3 One -to -Eight Family Residence District and R-4 Multi -Family Residence District to C-2 Community Business District, and, SECTION 3, WHEREAS, a study of this Ordinance was conducted by the Richmond City Plan Commission the day of , 1977, at which time remonstrances were heard from all parties interested in or affected by this Ordinance, SECTION 4. WHEREAS, the vote of the Richmond City Plan Commission was to in favor of/in opposition to recommending the passage of Ordinance No. 3160-1976, NOW THEREFORE: SECTION 5. It is hereby ordained that the zoning classification of the above described property be, and the same is hereby changed to C-2 Community Business District, and that said property be regulated in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Richmond, Indiana, and all amendments thereto. SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as by law required. SECTION 7. The oriqinal zoning classification of the aforementioned area is hereby rescinded and the zoning classification of this area will be in accordance with Section 2 of this Ordinance, PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond Indiana, this day of , 1977. Wilson, Robert E. Herbst, Ola H. Kramer, Jacqueline Gainey, Nicholas Alan, William Kasulas, Billie Johnson, Darlina Terrell, Gregory Terrell, Lowell E. Goodin and Donnan Goodin to rezone certain property located at 1803-1829 East Main; 21-35-South 18th Street and 28-36 South 19th Street; to rezone from R-3 and R-4 Multi -family residential to C-2 community business for a Standard Grocery Store. Parties interested or affected by this request were given an oppor- tunity to speak. The Planning Commission votod seven (7) to zero (0) to deny this petition.
